Remember the story we shared about the Japanese island that planned to open a hot tub theme park?
According to Travel + Leisure, “The world’s first spa-themed amusement park is expected to open this summer, in Japan’s Beppu City”. Yes. Seriously!
Beppu City is already considered a tourist attraction, thanks to its famous hot springs. By adding a hot tub theme park, the Beppu Mayor Yasuhiro Nagano feels the city will become home to a one-of-a-kind attraction.
At present, the city has kicked off a fundraising campaign on Campfire to raise 100 million yen. The goal is to fundraise as quickly as possible, as the park’s development team is hoping to host the grand opening on July 29, 2017.
